The Creation Of Man

Surah Al-Mumenoon, Verse 12:

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن سُلَالَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ

And certainly We created man of an extract of clay,

Surah Al-Mumenoon, Verse 13:

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُطْفَةً فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ

Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place,

Surah Al-Mumenoon, Verse 14:

ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَامًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَاهُ خَلْقًا آخَرَ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ

Then We made the seed a clot (عَلَقَةً), then We made the clot (عَلَقَةً) a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators.

Surah Al-Mumenoon, Verse 15:

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ

Then after that you will most surely die.

Surah Al-Mumenoon, Verse 16:

ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ

Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised.

Antara Gajah dan Semut

Kisah pengembaraan kak Julie (blogger Life is Great) ke Cu Chi Tunnel di Vietnam telah menjentik (ouch!) kotak pemikiran aku tentang kuat dan lemah.

Contohnya soalan antara gajah dan semut siapa yang lebih kuat?

Gajah?

Gajah adalah haiwan darat paling kuat. Gajah Afrika yang beratnya boleh mencapai 6350kg mampu membawa beban seberat 9000kg seolah-olah berat 130 orang manusia dewasa.

Semut?

Semut pemotong daun mampu membawa dengan rahangnya sesuatu yang 50 kali lebih berat daripada berat badannya. Seolah-olah seorang manusia yang mampu mengangkat sebuah lori dengan giginya.

Sekarang aku memerlukan masa yang lebih untuk menjawab siapa yang lebih kuat kerana

kekuatan itu sebenarnya relatif.

Those icons remind me of the story of prophet Lut, who his people were known for homosexuallity.

Surah Al-Araf, Verse 80:
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ
And (We sent) Lut when he said to his people: What! do you commit an indecency which any one in the world has not done before you?

Surah Al-Araf, Verse 81:
إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاءِ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ
Most surely you come to males in lust besides females; nay you are an extravagant people.

Surah Al-Araf, Verse 82:
وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
And the answer of his people was no other than that they said: Turn them out of your town, surely they are a people who seek to purify (themselves).

Surah Al-Araf, Verse 83:
فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
So We delivered him and his followers, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind.

Surah Al-Araf, Verse 84:
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
And We rained upon them a rain; consider then what was the end of the guilty.

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 33:
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ
The people of Lut treated the warning as a lie.

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 34:
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ نَّجَّيْنَاهُم بِسَحَرٍ
Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak,

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 35:
نِّعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَن شَكَرَ
A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks.

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 36:
وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ
And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning.

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 37:
وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning.

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 38:
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning.

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 39:
فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
So taste My chastisement and My warning.

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 40:
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?

*There are some other chapter in the Quran mentioning prophet Lut and his people; some of the surah - Al-An'aam, Al-Aa'raf, Hud, Al-Hijr, Al-Anbiya, Al-Haj, Asy-Syu'ara, An-Naml, Al-Ankaboot.

Ask Google and Wikipedia about Pompeii. Could it be that Pompeii was the place of the people of prophet Lut?
